Photo Resize is a fully local iOS batch compression tool for photos and videos. All compression and transcoding operations run entirely on your device; no original media files will be uploaded to the internet, fully protecting your photo library privacy.
Core features: Batch compression for massive media assets, high-efficiency HEIC/HEVC transcoding, thermal throttling speed control, background processing under screen lock, and mass storage space saving.
Photo library loads blank / lags severely
Go to system Settings and grant the app All Photos permission. If you have a huge amount of media, process assets in separate albums in batches to avoid loading tens of thousands of items at once.
No one-click select-all across all albums
To comply with App Store privacy regulations, the app only supports selecting all items within the current album. Media from different albums must be ticked separately after switching albums.
iCloud cloud photos cannot be compressed
Optimized cloud-stored assets must be manually downloaded to your device first. Undownloaded files will be automatically skipped and listed in the failure summary.
Device overheats severely during compression
The app includes built-in intelligent thermal control: it will automatically reduce concurrent tasks and pause video processing when the device overheats. You may also manually pause all tasks to let the device cool down.
Compression stops after screen locks
Raise quality parameters and adjust resolution scaling ratio in compression settings. Files already encoded in HEIC/HEVC will be skipped automatically to avoid redundant compression.
Some media files fail to compress
Failures are usually caused by undownloaded cloud assets, corrupted files, or temporary permission loss. After all tasks finish, you may retry all failed items in bulk without re-running the entire queue.
Free version limitations
The free tier includes restrictions on certain features and batch processing volume. Purchasing VIP membership unlocks full unlimited access to all functions.
Cancel auto-renewal
Open iPhone Settings → Tap your Apple ID at the top → Subscriptions → Photo Resize. Disable auto-renewal at least 24 hours before your subscription expires.
Restore purchases on a new device
Tap Restore Purchases on the "My Page" inside the app, and log in with the identical Apple ID to retrieve your VIP privileges.
App crashes frequently
Reserve at least 2GB of free storage space on your device. Process large media batches separately. Update iOS to the latest official release.
Compressed files fail to save to photo library
Grant full photo write access to the app in system Settings. Compressed files are temporarily stored inside the app; you may preview them and manually save to your album afterward.
